Service Technician
Duties and Responsibilities
This position entails the installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic scales and weighing systems along with peripheral devices such as computers and software, printers, packaging machines, and vacuum pack machines. Service Technicians work alone or in teams and in diverse settings to test, diagnose, repair, overhaul, and execute scale system repairs while ensuring customer satisfaction. Such individuals require having a sound understanding of all company and customer safety requirements and industry standards along with scale terminology and the specifications, tolerances, and other technical requirements for weighing and measuring devices as describe in NIST Handbook 44. Prior service technician experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic fields desired. TWIC card, safety certifications, and CDL very benefical for interested candidates. Successful service experience, and customer contacts in the following industries a major plus: Agriculture, Chemicals, Commercial Fishing, Hospitals, Clinics, & Labs, Petroleum and Petroleum Refining.
Required Education and Skills

- Capable of working independently and as a member of a team
- Possess TWIC card
- CDL
- Current OSHA safety certifications
- Capable of working in industrial and outdoor environments

- Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and work from blueprints, drawings, installing weighing equipment, wiring terminations, final testing and calibration of system to ensure that they are properly functioning.

Technical Sales Representative
Southern Scales & Controls Inc. has immediate openings for a motivated sales representatives to sell precision measurement, weighing, and instrumentation solutions throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. The ideal candidate will be highly professional and personable, possess excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills, and be comfortable operating independently in a highly entrepreneurial environment. Successful sales experience and customer contacts in the following industries a major plus: Agriculture, Chemicals, Commercial Fishing, Hospitals, Clinics, & Labs, Petroleum and Petroleum Refining. Compensation program is heavily oriented toward pay for performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop the market and consistently achieve quarterly and annual sales objectives
- Prepare and deliver annual territory development plan. Update quarterly
- Identify customer business challenges, and present and sell company products and service solutions to current and potential customers
- Establish relationships with product manufacturers and conduct regular workdays with their technical representatives
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from selling activities
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and sales quotes
- Develop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge
- Identify and resolve client concerns
- Prepare a variety of sales status reports – including daily contact log, weekly sales activities, pipeline, and progress to goal reports. Deliver all updates on time
- Report on market trends, competitive intelligence, and changes to customer’s businesses that affect our business
- Communicate in an effective manner with customers, staff, manufacturers and corporate management
- Gather and share feedback from customers on how we can improve what we do
- Obtain and maintain Safety Council certifications and customer site-specific certifications.
- Obtain and maintain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- This position is a customer facing position and it is expected that the representative will be interacting with customers and prospects 80% of the time. 20% of the time will be spent preparing for sales calls, and following up on business opportunities
Required Education and Skills
